Setting a timer, scheduling a meeting that starts in 45 minutes, working out when a 90-minute film will end, or checking when a 10,000-minute video render will finish — each is a case of adding minutes to a time. This calculator does it exactly, including across midnight and into a new date, and it also converts the span back into days, hours and minutes so you can sanity-check the answer.
How to use the minutes from now calculator
- Enter the start date and time.
- Type the minutes to add or subtract.
- Choose later or earlier.
- Read the clock time, date and span. The span breaks long totals into days, hours and minutes.
Minutes from now formula
Hours = ⌊ minutes ÷ 60 ⌋, leftover minutes = minutes mod 60
Days = ⌊ minutes ÷ 1,440 ⌋
The calculator converts the start to a count of minutes since a fixed reference, adds or subtracts your minutes and converts back to a date and clock time. Using a single unit avoids the classic mistake of adding 45 minutes to 10:30 and getting 10:75.
Worked example: a 90-minute film starting at 9:00 AM
- Convert 90 minutes to hours: 90 ÷ 60 = 1.5 h, or 1 hour 30 minutes.
- 9:00 AM + 1 hour = 10:00 AM.
- 10:00 AM + 30 minutes = 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
With a start of 11:50 PM and 25 minutes to add, the hour rolls over and the date moves on: 12:15 AM the next day.
Minutes added to 9:00 AM

| 20 | 9:20 AM | 20 minutes |
| 30 | 9:30 AM | 30 minutes |
| 45 | 9:45 AM | 45 minutes |
| 60 | 10:00 AM | 1 hour |
| 90 | 10:30 AM | 1 hour 30 minutes |
| 120 | 11:00 AM | 2 hours |
| 180 | 12:00 PM | 3 hours |
| 240 | 1:00 PM | 4 hours |
| 480 | 5:00 PM | 8 hours |
| 720 | 9:00 PM | 12 hours |
| 1440 | 9:00 AM | 1 day |
Handy minute facts
- 1 hour = 60 minutes; 1 day = 1,440 minutes; 1 week = 10,080 minutes.
- A quarter of an hour is 15 minutes, a third is 20 minutes and a half is 30 minutes.
- Decimal hours convert by multiplying by 60: 0.75 h = 45 min, 0.1 h = 6 min.
Practical uses
Cooks add minutes to figure out when the roast comes out; drivers add a travel estimate to a departure time; teachers add class lengths to build a schedule; and anyone running a long export or download can add the expected minutes to see roughly when it finishes. For events that last several hours or days, use the Hours From Now Calculator calculator, and for dates use Days From Date Calculator.

Frequently asked questions
What time is 30 minutes from now?
Add 30 to the current minutes. If it is 9:45 now, 30 minutes later is 10:15. Enter the start time to get the exact result and date.
How do I add minutes to a time past midnight?
Total the minutes and carry them into hours (60 minutes per hour) and days (1,440 minutes per day). 23:50 plus 25 minutes is 12:15 AM the next day.
How many minutes are in an hour, day and week?
60 minutes in an hour, 1,440 in a day and 10,080 in a week.
Can I subtract minutes?
Yes. Choose “Earlier (subtract)” to find a time before the start, for example 30 minutes before 12:10 AM, which is 11:40 PM the previous day.
Does it account for time zones or daylight saving?
No. It adds minutes to the clock time you enter. Convert time zones before you start, and adjust by an hour yourself if the span crosses a daylight-saving change.
